Night and Day – shortest day of the year
Fri June 21st 2024 8:50am is winter Solstice in NZ ... the shortest day of the year with sunrise at 7:33 am and sunset at 5:11pm with a total of 9.37:53 daylight hours in 24.
From here we slowly head back to the longest day with summer Solstice on Sat 21st Dec at 10:19 pm.
It also marks the first official day of winter for 2024 turning into spring on Mon 23rd Sept some 95 days later and of course summer on Dec 21st some 88 days after that or 183 days from winter Solstice being half a year before we start heading back the other way again.
And the relevance … we’ll this denotes the changing seasons we go through every year which in a way also emphasises the cyclical nature of economics, that seasons come and go and so do economic cycles so while we may be feeling a bit of economic frost right now, rest assured the sun will be well and truly on our back in due course.
So what better time to make a pact to turn this whole thing around and start heading in the right direction, to decide to not participate in economic recessionary, to start taking steps toward growth and a brighter future, turn night into day and put this all behind us.
Economic factors abound that we have to still deal with but that’s not to say we can’t forge ahead with positive expectation for the not too distant future, that we will pull through and come out the other side all in good time …
