Important OCR announcement coming Wed 27th November 2024
Now the Official Cash Rate (OCR) and interest rates are on a progressively downward trend, the next OCR announcement being the last one for the year on Wed 27th November at 2pm will be an important revelation of the Reserve Bank’s intention for the economy going forward and a snapshot of its current state.
This will give us great insight as to what to expect in the coming year with the next and first announcement for 2025 due on 19th Feb 2025.
With such a long time in restrictive mode post Covid and now moving back down in earnest, we’re expecting a quantum shift to a new phase in the economic cycle and breathing life back into the economy over the coming months and year, this latest announcement will be very telling as to how things really are right now.
See my previous blog for more on that >>> Game on for OCR and interest rate reductions
Its probably quite timely to take a look at where we’ve been with the OCR since its inception at 4.5% on 17th March 1999 and for those interested, study the cycles and its relevance to our position right now…is a useful reference tool for those enquiring.

So for now, we wait … and will report back once we see the results on the 27th.
